Osteopathy

Finding health should be the concern of every osteopath.
Everyone can find the disease.
A. T. Still

The american physician Dr. Andrew Taylor Still created 140 years ago the principles of Osteopathy. It can be described as an alternative medical treatment identifiying and treating disfunctions. The patient is considered as a complete functional unit within the union of body, spirit and soul as well as its physical union parietal, visceral and craniosacral.

The principle of osteopathy involves on the one hand the mobility of tissue of the body (e.g. skeleton, muscles, organs). On the other hand the self movement of the tissue from the embryonal development and its interaction are taken into account.

With limited range of movement from an ostepathic point of view stress of tissue can occur followed by functional disorders. If the sum of disorders is too big they can't be compensated by the organism and pain results.

Our organism consist of uncountable structures and tissues which are all directly or indirectly connected. This connection is build through fascia, a thin connective tissue enclosing all structures leading to one large body fascia. They can transfer pain and lead it to different parts of the body.

With a thorough examination of the whole body and an assessment of the medical history we try to find the root cause of the dysfunction. The osteopathic treatment is predominantly a manual treatment.
